The Big Welsh Quiz returns: connect with Welsh students across the UK

Every September, thousands of Welsh students head off to universities across the UK. For employers looking to attract Welsh talent back to Wales after graduation, that raises an age-old question: how do you reach them while they’re away?
Enter Darogan’s Big Welsh Quiz.
Now, you’ve probably never considered including a series of pub quizzes in your graduate recruitment strategy, but bear with us…
Now entering its third year, the Big Welsh Quiz is returning to campuses and cities across the UK. It will see the Darogan team, in collaboration with each university’s Welsh society, hosting 20 pub quiz-style nights across England, Scotland and Wales where teams will take part in a battle of the brains to see which society comes out on top. Think University Challenge but a lot more Welsh and, in our humble opinion, a lot more fun!
By meeting the students where they are and giving them the opportunity to engage with us in a sociable environment, we really get to know these candidates and can share information about your organisation’s opportunities with them face to face. During the night, we’ll be handing out your leaflets or freebies, giving a talk or sharing a presentation or video about your upcoming vacancies or graduate scheme – and hosting the quiz, of course!
Over 600 participants attended the quiz nights last academic year, and they’re only growing in popularity, with many societies already approaching us to get their quiz night in the calendar before the term has even started!
The universities we target are not random, either. We analyse university student population data to identify where the largest concentrations of Welsh students are studying, while also targeting Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions to reach a broad mix of talented and engaged candidates.
