Shift Pattern: Shift rotation 4 on, 4 off, including night shifts

Contracted Hours: 44 Hours (12 Hour Shifts 6.30am – 6.30pm and 6.30pm to 6.30am)

Join our growing team as a SOC Analyst and play a vital role in protecting our clients. As part of our Security Operations Centre (SOC), you’ll be on the front line of our operations, actively monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats. This role is central to strengthening our position as a trusted security partner and upholding our reputation as a leading provider of cyber security services.

Key Responsibilities

    • In the event of suspicious activity, gather all relevant information and present to Level 2 SOC Analyst or in their absence, the SOC Lead.
    • Actively look for security breaches and their root cause.
    • Carry out day to day maintenance of the SIEM technology stack, including refinement of rules, alerts and reports arising from both traditional SIEM and Next Gen User Behaviour Analytics (UBA) tools.
    • Implement new security tools as required.
    • Respond rapidly and effectively to security incidents, by reporting to Level 2 Analysts or the SOC Lead. Contribute to compiling a professional and effective response.
    • Create accurate and professional reports which will help clients clearly understand issues and risks, and which will help them to make an informed decision regarding solution and mitigation.
    • Coordinate tasks as directed by the SOC Lead to assist in the improvement of the security of the system.
    • Work with the Vulnerability Analyst to identify both known and potential new threats and develop new mitigations.

Criteria

Essential

    • Good level of technical knowledge and understanding of cyber security principles including cyber threats, networking protocols, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and IDS systems
    • Excellent written and verbal skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
    • Experience of working and collaborating with a team
    • Degree or equivalent work experience in Cybersecurity or related field

Desirable

    • Experience in a customer/client facing role
    • CompTIA Security Plus or BTL1 certification
