The role

Are you looking to take your first step into a rewarding career in Facilities Management? We have two exciting Facilities Apprentice opportunities available, with one position based in Llandarcy and one in St Mellons, Cardiff. As part of our Facilities South team, you will gain hands on experience across a diverse property portfolio while working towards a Level 3 Facilities Management Apprenticeship. This role requires regular travel to NRW sites across South Wales, and you must hold a full, current UK driving licence and be able to travel independently between locations.

What you will do

  • Support the Estates and Facilities team with day-to-day tasks that help maintain a safe and healthy working environment for staff, customers and contractors
  • Apply the learning from your apprenticeship to real-world situations, gaining experience in building compliance checks, supporting maintenance activities, contractor management and other on-site tasks
  • Develop good working relationships with colleagues, customers and contractors, offering helpful and friendly customer service as the first point of contact for Facilities queries
  • Support basic Facilities administration, including entering accurate data, updating records, and using ICT systems under guidance
  • Help the team meet health, safety and wellbeing standards by following procedures, identifying issues, and reporting concerns to qualified staff

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills, supported by GCSE grade C / Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Basic ICT skills and the ability to learn new systems
  • An awareness of how Facilities services are planned, delivered and improved, including health and safety, customer service, sustainability and building operations
  • An interest in Facilities Management, property management, customer service or building maintenance is desirable
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to organise your time, follow instructions and take initiative when appropriate
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Welsh Language Level: Essential — A1, Entry level
