Company Description

We are looking for a Biodiversity Officer to help protect and improve local wildlife and habitats. This roles involves carrying out surveys, supporting conservation projects and advising on how to protect biodiversity in development and land management.

You will co-ordinate the implementation of the Section 6 Biodiversity and Ecosystem Resilience Plan by all relevant Council Services, and to regularly monitor, report on and review the plan.

It is essential requirement of the role that you hold a degree in an environmental discipline and have a thorough understanding and substantial breadth and depth of professional experience in relation to ecological and biodiversity matters.

You will need to be highly motivated and self-reliant with the ability to manage a workforce to ensure efficiency within deadlines, high levels of productivity and cost effectiveness.

The ability to travel at all times throughout the County Borough area and periodically further afield, along with experience and the ability to work outdoor and access land over uneven terrain under adverse conditions in compliance with Lone Working arrangements.

This role offers flexible working options for a work life balance. This can include adjusting your working day and hybrid working, ie a balance of office and home working.
