Role Summary
We are looking for a proactive, adaptable and highly organised Business Support Officer to provide flexible administrative and operational support across TrimTabs.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys helping a business run effectively and responding to changing priorities. You will support the day-to-day management of the office, coordinate meetings and events, maintain business systems and records, and assist with activities across People, Finance, Marketing and Business Development.
No two days will be the same. The successful candidate will bring initiative, curiosity and a practical, team-oriented approach. They will take ownership, solve problems and proactively support the business while working within clear professional boundaries and reasonable working hours.
We welcome applications from people with a wide range of professional backgrounds. Experience gained through work, volunteering, self-directed learning or other routes will all be considered. We are more interested in your attitude, capability, experience and potential.
We anticipate appointing either an Associate Business Support Officer or Business Support Officer depending on the successful candidate’s experience, capability and readiness to operate independently.
Key responsibilities may look like
- Office Management: Support the smooth day-to-day running of the office, including supplies, facilities, visitors, meeting spaces and relationships with external service providers.
- Events and Meetings: Coordinate company events, conferences, partner and external stakeholder visits, team activities and internal meetings, including bookings, communications, logistics and materials.
- General Business Support: Provide responsive administrative support across the business, helping colleagues to complete tasks, coordinate activities and address practical issues.
- Business Administration: Maintain accurate records, calendars and administrative systems, and prepare correspondence, reports, presentations and other business documentation, as needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve administrative systems and ways of working, and take initiative to implement practical solutions.
- People and Business Operations: Support recruitment, onboarding, training administration, purchasing, invoices, expenses and other routine operational activities.
- Marketing and CRM Support: Help maintain the company’s CRM, website and social media channels, and assist with business development and external communications activities.
What We Offer
- Indicative starting salary range: Associate Business Support Officer £26,500 – £29,000 per annum; Business Support Officer £29,000 – £33,000 per annum. Final appointment and salary determined based on skills, experience and demonstrated capability.
- Eligibility to enter the employee share options scheme.
- A tailored training and career development programme.
- The opportunity to significantly impact a high-growth startup by working closely with the founder.
If you’re ready to take on a varied and engaging role that will support your professional growth, we want to hear from you. TrimTabs is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we welcome applications from women, people from under-represented backgrounds in engineering, and those returning to work or changing career paths.
Informal enquiries can be directed to Gabrielle Orbaek White. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, closing 9 October 2026.
We encourage applications from people who may not meet every listed requirement but feel they could thrive in this role and support our mission in a globally relevant, high visibility, strategic industry. We operate in a fast-paced, high-trust environment that values accountability, collaboration and sustainable ways of working.
Requirements
You are proactive, dependable and naturally organised, with a positive and practical approach to work. You take ownership, use initiative and look for ways to help rather than waiting to be directed. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and approach routine, practical and more complex tasks with equal professionalism, recognising that each contributes to the effective running of the business.
You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change, and able to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different backgrounds and disciplines.
You will ideally bring:
- Previous experience in administration, business support, office coordination or a related role.
- Confidence using common workplace software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, or the ability to quickly learn new digital tools.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and recognise when guidance is needed.
- A collaborative, low-ego and solutions-focused approach.
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous but is not essential:
- CRM systems.
- Social media or website management.
- HR or recruitment administration.
- Basic finance, bookkeeping, invoicing or expense administration.
- Events coordination.
- Experience within a startup, scale-up, manufacturing or technical environment.
