Transport for Wales are offering a two-year graduate programme to develop their future leaders. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your career off to a flying start, working in a dynamic team that’s changing the way a nation travels.

  • Salary: Your salary will be £27,000 a year, increasing to £28,000 in your second year.

You’ll choose a specialism such as transport planning, IT, operations and commercial and rotate between different teams that work in your chosen discipline. You’ll get hands-on experience of projects that are reshaping Wales’ transport network.

Bus Project Management

You’ll help Transport for Wales make bus services work better in Wales. It’s a crucial part of their plans to build an integrated, multimodal transport network that meets people’s needs.

You’ll be involved with planning bus services that best serve local communities, as well as ticketing, fleet and depot projects. You’ll also rotate into different teams to broaden your experience and help you get the most out of your placement.

Bus Network Planning

You’ll be part of bus reform in Wales as TfW rolls out franchising across the country over the next few years. Join their project management teams as they consider all aspects of the changes, from customer and stakeholder engagement to technology, vehicles and much more. You’ll help build and implement the project plans needed for this exciting shift in bus transport in Wales.

Customer Operations

You’ll support the Station Manager and Head of Customer Operations delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the high safety standards expected throughout TfW’s network.

You’ll work closely with station colleagues to ensure facilities are safe, clean and well-maintained for customers. You’ll assist with training and competency assessments and contribute to business cases and service improvements.

You’ll also get involved with Station Adoption schemes, resource planning, events, early talent promotion and engagement with internal and external stakeholders to drive projects forward.

You’ll gain valuable experience across a wide range of operations. You’ll help provide the best experience for customers with transport services that are safe and on-time, with capacity that meets demand.

You’ll work across different teams to understand how our railway works for both customers and frontline colleagues. You’ll learn about the challenges the network faces and how to act as one team to do the right thing for customers.
